Joining the HGPCA

From an initial, 75 members, the HGPCA has developed a membership that often exceeds 350. Being “The International Association for Owners and Drivers of Historic Racing Cars”, membership not only exists for owners, but also for enthusiasts interested in the stewardship of these fine cars from such a rich period of motor racing history.

Our ‘season’ begins at Race Retro in Stoneleigh where members are able to attend the show and visit the HGPCA stand (special price tickets are available in advance).  The AGM is generally held during the Friday of the event to which all members are invited.  During March, sponsors Arbuthnot Latham hold a Motorsport Drinks evening in their offices in London to which members are invited.  Next is our Annual Test Day in April.  This has become as much a social occasion as an opportunity for members to shake down the winter rebuild – a chance to meet other members, offer drives to potential buyers and give passenger rides to guests and sponsors.  The racing season follows with opportunities for members not invited to race at specific meetings to join us for lunch at the HGPCA base – the Red Truck – we are often able to provide tickets to non-racers or arrange a discount on the general admission prices.

Life Member

A Life Member is a founding Member, a Member recognised by the Board as having made a special contribution or a Full or Ordinary  Member who has paid a Life Membership subscription fee. Life Members are entitled to all the privileges of Membership, entitled to stand for election to the Board, be invited to drive in Association events, and vote at general meetings.

Full Member: One off Joining Fee £1200; Annual Subscription £600

A Full Member is the owner of an eligible Grand Prix car, entitled to all the privileges of membership, entitled to stand for election to the Board, be invited to drive in Association events, and vote at general meetings.  HGPCA race overalls provided as part of the joining fee.

Ordinary Member: One Off Joining Fee £1200; Annual Subscription £600

An Ordinary Member is entitled to all privileges of membership, entitled to stand for election to the Board, entitled to drive in Association events but not entitled to vote at general meetings. HGPCA race overalls provided as part of the joining fee.

Associate Member: Annual Subscription £200

An Associate Member is entitled to receive all privileges of Membership as above except the rights to stand for election to the Board, to vote at general meetings or drive in Association events.

Sports Car Member:  Annual Subscription £200

A Sports Car Member is a person who is the owner / driver of an eligible sports car, entitled to all the privileges of membership as above and to drive in Association events designated for sports cars but not entitled to stand for election to the Board nor to vote at general meetings.

Honorary Member

An Honorary Member is a person who is designated by the Board for a specific period, allowed to drive in Association events, but not entitled to stand for election to the Board nor to vote at general meetings.
